Kansai International Airport is a first class airport built on a 5km artificial island off the Senshu coast in Osaka Bay in the south of Osaka Prefecture, 38km southwest of Osaka City and is Japan’s second full-scale offshore airport. Its common names are Kanku, Kansai Airport and Senshu Airport. It is one of the three airports in Kansai and functions as the international base airport for Kansai. It has 2 open parallel runways one of which is the longest in Japan at 4000m.

Luggage services
1.Sending large luggage
There are counters in both the North and South wings on the 1st floor (International Arrivals floor) and the 4th floor (International Departures floor). Luggage can be retrieved from the Pick-up Service (delivery of luggage from home to airport / all companies accept reservations by telephone 3 – 4 days before departure) on the 4th floor and delivery service reception for suitcases or souvenirs on your return from overseas is on the 1st floor.

2.Checking luggage
It is possible to use a temporary left luggage service at Kansai International Airport. These are located in both the North and South wings on the 1st and 4th floors as well as in the South wing of the 2nd floor. The North wing counter is operated by ANA Sky Porter and the South wing counter by JAL Ground Support. It is 600 yen to leave a suitcase for one day and 350 yen for a Boston bag, 1,200 yen to leave a coat for 5 days and large items such as surfboards can be left for 1,000 yen per day.

3.Coin lockers
These are located at the North and South domestic departure gates on the 2nd floor and the North and South wings on the 3rd floor of the passenger terminal building. There are two fee systems: hourly and daily so please choose the best system for your needs.
- ●Daily coin lockers cost 600 yen for large lockers (suitcases), 400 yen for medium lockers and 300 yen for small lockers per day (24 hours).
- ●Hourly coin lockers cost 300 yen for large lockers (suitcases), 200 yen for medium lockers and 100 yen for small lockers every 3 hours.
There are 2 other locations (51 lockers) on the 2nd floor atrium of the Aeroplaza. Medium and large (suitcases) lockers both cost 200 yen for the first day. From the second day medium lockers cost 300 yen a day and large lockers 400 yen a day. Lockers may be used for a maximum of 10 days at a time.

2.Bureaus de change
There are 4 locations on the 1st floor (mainly for changing foreign currency into Japanese yen), 4 locations on the 4th floor (mainly for changing Japanese yen into foreign currencies), 1 location after passport control and 1 in front of the ticket gates at Nankai Airport Station. Traveller’s cheques are also issued at these locations. In addition to these bureaus de change, it is also possible to buy foreign currency or traveller’s cheques at the World Currency Shop and the post office on the 2nd floor.
3.Post offices
This is located in the South wing of 2F and sells commemorative stamps and picture postcards, etc. at the counter. It is also possible to buy foreign currency or traveller’s cheques. Normal services such as postal services, savings and postal insurance are also available. P.O. boxes are useful for business use.
