Gero Onsen

Gero Onsen spa is surrounded by the Hida mountains in a beautiful natural setting and is the largest onsen resort in Gifu Prefecture. It is known as one of the 3 most celebrated onsen in Japan along with Arima Onsen and Kusatsu Onsen.
Gero Onsen is a genuine natural onsen that wells ups with a high temperature of 84ºC. It is alkaline simple spring water which is clear and colourless with a delicate aroma and it is known for being mellow spring water. It gently coats the skin leaving it feeling as soft as silk.
Its effects have also received attention from the medical world to the extent that rehabilitation facilities and medical research institutes using the onsen have been set up in the area.
