There is a service in mainland China, Hong Kong, Taiwan and South Korea, etc., that provides Japanese mobiles phones for people who are travelling to Japan for business or pleasure. In addition, major airports and travel agents in Japan also handle the rental of mobile phones. There are two types of rental mobile phones provided by these companies: a domestic (within Japan) call only type and the type which forwards calls from the mobile phone currently used to the Japanese rental mobile phone. It is extremely convenient when you are travelling to Japan to rent a mobile phone that can make international calls.
If you choose a World mobile phone from DoCoMo, Japan’s largest mobile phone operator, it is easy to rent a mobile phone with which you can make calls not only within Japan but internationally too.
● How to rent a mobile phone
It’s very easy to rent a DoCoMo mobile phone. You don’t even have to apply in advance. You can just rent a phone whenever you want at the designated airports in Japan.
